Problems with performance monitor in Windows 2003

days ago I wanted to draw some graphics performance a server running Windows 2003 Server and I got the surprise of counters performance were damaged.
performance counters that are included with the operating system
or are installed as part of Microsoft's implementation
not be added to a Data Collector Set or a session Performance Monitor

In following image shows how performance counters saw

To resolve this problem we can support the KB 300956 where we show how to reestablish these performance counters manually, but the disadvantage we have is queeste article only includes counters that includes the operating system, so if we restore also other applications (SQL, IIS, Exchange, etc) we would further complicate.

Another option is to use the Exctrlst.exe , this is part of Windows Resource Kit 2000, but can be used on systems with Windows XP Professional, and Windows Server 2003, not yet tested in Windows 2008, Vista or Windows 7.

This tool lists the services and applications that provide performance counters in local or remote computer, displays the names and locations of the dll that support performance counters and allows us to enable and deshabilitarl counters.

Exctlst.exe tool we can get off the download site Microsoft [ here ]
